Essential Life Skills provider forum huge success

19 November 2018

Expect Youth were delighted to host their first bimonthly Essential Life skills provider forum on Wednesday, as partners gathered to network at the Keepmoat Stadium.

The evening began with team-building, character and resilience skills delivered by Commando Joes, an elite team of military veterans inspiring the community to work together.

Doncaster Opportunity Area and Expect Youth then provided updates on their delivery plans, and their progress against grant objectives and outcomes.

Programme manager, Katie Hodgson said: “We couldn’t have asked for a better turn out on the evening, it’s great to touch base with the group and I’m excited to see how these forums develop going forward. A big thanks must go to all our partners who made the evening such a successful one.

“We’re delighted that our video was showcased on the night too, we have had a phenomenal few months with our Expect Summer project at the heart of them, so we can’t wait to push it far and wide too.”

The video has been put together by Wayne Stables Project, and highlights the incredible work Expect Youth and partners do to bring the community together in Doncaster.

Expect Youth brings together skilled professionals and quality facilities to employability, sport, outdoor education, health and wellbeing provision, alternative education, disability services, arts, accreditation, citizenship, participation and programmes in serious youth violence.

The group is made up of experienced locally-based partners: Club Doncaster Foundation, Flying Futures, Doncaster Community Arts (DARTS), Doncaster Culture Leisure Trust, Doncaster Children’s Services Trust, Active Fusion, the Chamber of Commerce, Get Doncaster Moving, Public Health and Doncaster Council Youth Services.
