This post is funded by the Doncaster Social Mobility Opportunity Area, and will identify and target areas of low engagement with extracurricular activity. Jo will be collaborating with representatives from schools, young people, extra-curricular activity providers, members of third sector groups, and the local authority, to develop longer-term strategies; which seek to overcome barriers and increase opportunities to participate in extracurricular activity for more children and young people in Doncaster.
Jo is joining us on secondment from her post as Culture Business Manager, at Doncaster Council, and will be with Expect Youth until mid August 2022.
She brings with her experience of working in partnership with local creative partners to collectively produce Doncaster’s first culture strategy. Jo was instrumental in establishing and managing the ‘Doncaster Cultural Education Partnership’; which brings together teachers from all settings, local creative organisations and the local authority to help connect all children and young people with arts, culture and heritage opportunities. Her wealth of experience working with schools and community based providers will be of real benefit to her work with EXPECT Youth.
