Success of EXPECT Summer

19 October 2018

Thanks to funding from the Department for Education Social Mobility Opportunity Area for Doncaster, the EXPECT Summer programme has gone out with a huge bang! Over the course of 6 weeks we achieved an outstanding 10,947 attendances from across the borough.

A range of local community organisations, along with the key EXPECT Youth partners: DARTS, Active Fusion, EPIC, Doncaster Culture & Leisure Trust, Club Doncaster Foundation and Flying Futures delivered an extensive variety of fun filled and activity packed sessions. Thanks to our partners and voluntary youth organisations we have given 3,462 young people facing disadvantage the chance to take part in activities such as: Zorbing, Frist Aid Training, Hair and Beauty, Castle Club, Dance, Multi Sports, the list goes on! With help from Fareshare, the Schools Catering Team and Moorends Miners Welfare the programme was able to prepare and provide free healthy meals for children and young people at sessions. Take a look below to see just how much impact the EXPECT Summer programme has made to the children and young people of Doncaster.
